Mid South Moments - February 23rd 1985

Phil Stegall (@blueeyeddrumr) & Terry Canova (@Coach_canova) are back to review the excellent February 23rd episode of Mid South Wrestling.  This featured a phenomenal, and must see segment between Ted Dibiase & Jim Duggan that started as a rematch of the ‘Best Dressed Contest’ that we saw the previous week.

Butch Reed also goes up against Buddy Landell, plus the Dirty White Boys vs Tom Prichard & Private Terry Daniels, and the Guerrero’s challenging the Rock N Roll Express for the Mid South tag team titles.

Mid South Moments - February 16th 1985

Dan Phillips (@danpffc) is back to look at the February 16th 1985 episode of Mid South Wrestling.  This is a loaded show with debut of the The Dirty White Boys, Dr Death Steve Williams in tag action along with another debut in Edcar ‘Boo’ Thomas. We have the best dressed man contest between Duggan & Dibiase plus Butch Reed vs Kamala in a surprise Dream match main event.  If that’s not all, the Rock N Roll Express also defend the tag team titles against the Guerrero’s.

Mid South Moments - January 26th 1985

James Coleman (@MrJamesMargate) is back for some inter-generational family 80s wrestling fun, looking back at the January 26th 1985 episode of Mid South Wrestling.

This featured the Guerrero’s in action up against Private Terry Daniels & Shawn Michaels, Jim Rose vs Brad Armstrong, Tim Horner vs Jake Roberts & from Houston Billy Jack Haynes vs Kamala.  

Unfortunately there were a tiny amount of technical problems on this one with James’ microphone going quiet a couple of times, but stick with it & we get it sorted as the show goes on.

Mid South Moments - January 12th 1985

We chat Pollo growing up as a huge Pro Wrestling & Mid South fan, favourite wrestlers & feuds plus later working for the Huffington Post covering the sport, nerves prior to interviewing Steve Austin compared with mainstream celebrities & much much more.  

 

There are some really great stories before we move on to review the January 12th 1985 episode of Mid South Wrestling, featuring possibly the best segment in the history of television with Bill Watts, Jim Duggan & Joel Watts.  Iceman King Parsons does double duty and there’s a North American Title match between Brad Armstrong and Steve Williams.

Unfortunately, thanks to some last minute guest host difficulties, this turned into an 11th hour solo watch along show (though you don’t have to watch along to enjoy the episode, it works just as well audio only!)

So, if you can, load up the WWE Network, find the incorrectly labelled January 6th 1985 episode of MSW, whack it on in the background & listen along while I try not to lose my voice & also go off on as many bizarre tangents as I can in 42 minutes.
